The Signal is a fairly new part of my Substack where I share the early-stage companies, technologies, and movements shaping the future of health, detoxification, longevity, regeneration, and human potential — through my lens as a practitioner, health and detox expert, and active angel investor.
The AI healthcare arms race has officially begun.
And, it’s moving fast.
In just the past several weeks:
OpenAI launched a health-focused version of ChatGPT called ChatGPT Health, integrating medical records, labs, and wellness data for consumers and health systems. (I will plan to write a full review on it.)
Anthropic rolled out Claude for Healthcare, embedding AI into clinical workflows, payer systems, and life sciences.
Amazon introduced Health AI inside One Medical, using patient data to support primary care, prescriptions, and care coordination.

Zoom out, and the data tells the story:
The global AI-in-healthcare market is projected to grow from ~$35–40B today to $500B+ over the next decade.
Healthcare AI is growing at ~35–40% CAGR, one of the fastest-scaling sectors in tech.
Billions are flowing into AI-driven labs, diagnostics, imaging, wearables, and preventative health platforms.
AI is rapidly embedding directly into EHRs, payer systems, and clinical decision-making, not sitting on the sidelines.
At the same time:
Regulators are loosening restrictions on AI + wearable health signals.
States are experimenting with AI-driven clinical tooling.
Preventative health startups (labs, scans, diagnostics, longevity) are scaling faster than ever.
Healthcare is being rebuilt from the data layer up.
Data is becoming more:
Accessible
Portable
Personalized
Continuous
We’re moving from reactive sick-care to proactive health intelligence.
A shift that’s veryyyy long overdue, and deeply needed.
But, more data does not automatically create better health.
We are decentralizing information, but we haven’t fully solved for integration, interpretation, behavior change, or follow-through.
The real bottleneck isn’t insight + data.
It’s:
Adherence
Consistency
Emotional regulation
Decision fatigue
Lifestyle integration
Accountability
Support when motivation drops
AI can surface signals.
But, human beings still need actual help turning insight into action.
I see this every day in my inbox, my texts, my emails, and my DMs…
people asking me what to do next.
The next frontier in health won’t necessarily be who collects the most data.
It will be who best supports:
Behavior change
Nervous system regulation
Accountability
Real-world implementation
Sustainable habit formation
Data is being centralized and democratized right now.
But, real, lasting transformation still requires human guidance.
And that missing link — integration + execution — is where the real opportunity is.
Curious about how others are thinking about the missing human layer in AI healthcare.
If you’ve used AI for health, what’s actually helped you change your behavior? And, do you think AI is going to replace human support altogether or make it even more necessary? Let me know in the comments. I read and reply to every message.
I’m really excited to see how this all unfolds.
If you’re building the next generation of health, wellness, longevity, or human potential companies, send your deck through the deal flow form. I’m always looking for founders re-writing the future of human health.

I take AI feedback alongside the data and use it to reaffirm the things I’ve already sort of known. But I do find that it helps look at things from a wide angle and I’ve taught it to be positive so it really helps my move along and stay positive. If that makes sense.
