Everyone’s tracking everything right now.
It’s crazy.
HRV scores.
Sleep stages.
Glucose spikes.
Step counts.
Zone 2 minutes.
VO₂ max.
We have more data about our bodies than everrrrr before.
Bu, I’ve been noticing something interesting.
The people most obsessed with their health metrics are often the most anxious and paranoid about their health.
They know their resting heart rate down to the decimal.
But, they’re stressed about whether 62 BPM is better than 64.
They check their sleep score before they check in with how they actually feel.
At some point, health stopped being about listening to the body and started being about optimizing the dashboard.
I actually ditched my ŌURA ring for this exact reason.
I noticed I was becoming way more focused on the numbers than tuned in to my body.
If my sleep score was “bad” when I woke up, I’d feel off before the day even started.
Even if I felt totally fine.
That’s when something clicked.
Data can be incredibly useful.
But it can also create noise where there used to be intuition.
Wearables can support awareness.
But, they definitely shouldn’t replace it.
Because the body is constantly communicating.
Energy, hunger, mood, digestion, sleep…the list goes on.
You don’t need an app to tell you when something feels off.
The question I keep coming back to is this:
When did we stop trusting what our bodies are telling us?
If this resonated, I’d love to know: Do you find yourself relying more on data or your own intuition when it comes to your health? Let me know in the comments. I read and reply to every response.
