One popular creatine gummy would require you to eat 2,000 gummies to get the dose the label promises.
Welcome to the supplement industry.
First, it was food. Then beverages. Then personal care and household products.
Now, the next wave of consumer scrutiny is hitting supplements.
And, the $50B supplement industry isn’t ready for it.
The Problem
75% of Americans take a dietary supplement.
But many aren’t effective at all…or even accurately labeled.
And, even if they are, compromised detox pathways and poor gut function can make absorption minimal, meaning the body can’t actually even use what’s “on the label”.
Case in point:
SuppCo recently tested six highly popular creatine gummies sold on Amazon.
Four contained almost no creatine despite labels claiming otherwise.
One brand would require you to eat 2,000 gummies to get the advertised serving size. Colossal mislabeling.
Two had zero creatine.
Yet, all had high ratings and glowing reviews.
This isn’t just a creatine problem.
It’s systemic.
Mislabeling, contamination, and quality/potency issues are rampant in an industry that can legally sell products without pre-market FDA approval.
The Trust Gap
Consumers are finally waking up.
They aren’t just reading ingredients anymore. They’re demanding truth.
Stats from Fitt Insider show:
62% don’t trust health claims from food companies.
82% say health & wellness labels must be more transparent.
25% avoid wellness products entirely because they don’t believe they work.
So, it’s no longer enough to appear healthy and effective on the label. The product actually has to deliver.
Where This Is Going
We’re on the brink of a massive shift.
Here’s where this is going:
Consumers will start demanding the same radical transparency and accountability from supplement brands across sourcing, manufacturing, and testing.
Third-party testing/validation, clean-label seals, certifications, and radical supply chain transparency will become the new standard and a complete non-negotiable.
Brands that can prove potency, purity, and accuracy will rise above the noise and win big.
SuppCo is leading the charge, giving consumers the tools to verify what’s actually in the supplements they buy.
And, given the rising consumer demand for supplement integrity, I fully expect Light Labs — already a game-changer in food & beverage testing — to extend its reach further into the supplement space.
It’s just a matter of time.
We’ve entered a new era of supplement transparency.
The brands that can back their claims with data, testing, and truth will be the ones that thrive in the long run.

For someone such as myself, who is looking for greens for detox, I find it hard to know which company is offering rheumatoid arthritis "real "product. I checked out Cymbiotika, but heir marketing is so slick, it makes me weary.
