A recent post by Peta Kelly on wellness minimalism got me thinking bigggg time.
I think we’ve officially entered the era of wellness maximalism.
And, it’s crazy to witness first hand.
Wake up.
Track your sleep.
Check your HRV.
Go on a walk (and check your step count while doing it).
Take 12+ supplements.
Drink electrolytes.
Red light.
Cold plunge.
Sauna.
Peptides.
Collagen.
Creatine.
Protein powder.
Repeat.
At some point, wellness stopped being about feeling good…
and started becoming a full-time job.
I also think there’s a HUGE difference between being healthy and being wellness-obsessed.
Healthy feels grounded and calm.
It’s a few foundational things done consistently.
Whole foods.
Movement.
Sleep.
Sunlight.
Calm nervous system.
Clear elimination.
Deep relationships.
A life that actually feels good to live.
Wellness obsession feels different.
It’s anxious.
Hyper-vigilant.
Constantly chasing the next thing.
The next supplement.
The next gadget.
The next “hack”.
One comes from trust in the body.
The other often comes from fear that the body can’t function without constant intervention.
That distinction matters.
Because the goal isn’t to build a life where your health routine becomes your entire identity.
It’s to build a body and lifestyle that feel simple, resilient, and FREE.
And, I unfortunately see it allllllll the time.
People stacking:
more protocols
more peptides
more products
more “optimizations”
without ever asking the most obvious question:
What’s actually moving the needle?
Because honestly…
you can have the most dialed routine in the world and still feel:
tired
bloated
inflamed
off
I’ve been there too.
I used to be that girl.
There was a time I thought I needed more, always.
More supplements.
More tools.
More gadgets.
More products.
But what I’ve learned, both personally and through working with hundreds and hundreds of clients, is this:
True health isn’t built by adding endlessly.
It’s built by removing what doesn’t belong.
Toxic load.
Chronic stress.
Overstimulation.
Overcomplication.
Most people don’t need a more complex routine.
Trust me.
They need a more intelligent one.
A few things done consistently.
Space for the body to function.
Room for the nervous system to breathe.
That’s what I think of as wellness minimalism.
Not doing less out of laziness or anything like that.
Doing less because you actually understand what actually matters.
Because the goal isn’t to become someone who needs 20 things just to feel okay.
The goal is to become someone whose body, mind, and soul feel calm, grounded, healthy, and free…with less.

exactly this!! wellness never used to be expensive and complicated, so why should it be so different now? so well written.
I love this and I think you're right! I see a lot of people doing this and it just makes me cringe a bit because I feel it's a bit of a virtue signaling on wellness and also I think its counterproductive. sigh....
